Taking the first step

Therapy and self help can be scary and daunting. Change is rarely easy - if it was, everyone would do it. Sometimes we need help and that is okay. Sometimes all we need is a safe space where we can feel free to speak about the struggles that challenge us. My goal is to provide you the space to explore your feelings, develop ways to better cope with the hardships you encounter in life and find ways to feel more comfortable with day to day life, no matter how that may look for you. Change comes in all sizes, and what for some may seem small, to others can seem enormous. That first step is often the hardest, but I believe that if you can find the inner-strength to take that first step, you can begin to build yourself a brighter tomorrow.

Personal growth starts with You.

My approach is very much led with the belief that we all have the resources within ourselves to promote personal change, growth and agency over our lives. By working with me, we will explore together elements of your past and present to promote a brighter future where you can feel more in control. I focus on both Person Centred Theories as well as elements of Psychodynamic Theory, focussing on exploring your inner world, deepening your understanding of yourself and finding ways to feel more comfortable with who you are and who you have been.

Personalized Sessions

Everyone is different, so you can't expect any two people to find the same techniques to be effective. I aim to work with you, starting by getting to know you and building our relationship to better personalise an approach that works for you.

Person Centred Approach

I largely work following a more Person Centred Approach, meaning that I believe we all have the resources within ourselves to reach our fullest potential. I work with the belief that Empathy, Genuineness and Unconditional Positive Regard are crucial for growth and aspire to provide these factors in my work.

Psychodynamic Theory

While I largely conduct my work in a Person Centred way, I recognise that many of our struggles can stem from thoughts, behaviours and beliefs that were instilled in us from a young age, be it from our relationships, our environments and more. I work to utilise my training to help you reflect on these areas and find ways to grow beyond them. 

Short & Long-term support

Therapeutic work always takes time, but the amount of time isn't always the same. Some people only need short term work, from 10-20 sessions, whereas others may need to work through that bit more. It is important to not rush these things, Rome wasn't built in a day and neither were the challenges you have faced! I offer work based on your needs, be it short or long term. This can be something you wish to discuss when work begins.
